ORBESEAL TEAT SEALANT Zoetis For use in dry cows as an aid in the prevention of new intramam- mary infections throughout the dry period. Sterile, antibiotic-free, viscous paste provides a malleable barrier in the teat canal, re- ducing the incidence of clinical mastitis for the entire dry period by preventing bacteria from entering the teat canal. When Orbeseal is infused at dry off, new mastitis infections can be significantly reduced and somatic cell counts can be lowered. After last milking at dry-off, clean & disinfect teats with alcohol wipes (sold separately on page 16) & infuse entire syringe into each quarter. At calving, Orbeseal may be stripped out by hand, ingested by calf or removed via milking machine. However, if large numbers of cattle are freshened together & Orbeseal is removed via milking machine, it may build up on filters. For use in dry cows only. Zero milk & meat with- drawal when used alone. Contains 65% bismuth subnitrate. Directions: Carefully wash & dry teats before disinfection. Use an alcohol pad to clean end of teat to remove contaminated skin, dirt or manure. Repeat until pad remains clean. Disinfect the far teats before the near teats to avoid accidental contamination of previously disinfected teats. Insert the syringe nozzle into teat canal, grasp the teat, press firmly & slowly inject all contents. Do not massage. Insert into the nearest teats first, to minimize contamination of teats that have not been treated. After inserting, mark the cow so others can tell she has been dried off. Then dip each teat with a quality teat dip. 12832-1 Pail/144 $346.90 17 Order now at pbsanimalhealth.com LOCKOUT TEAT SEALANT Boehringer Ingelheim Aids in the prevention of new intramammary in- fections by providing a malleable barrier in the teat canal. Simulates the keratin plug, the cow’s natural first line of defense, to seal the teat against bacteria. Recommended to be used as part of a herd aproach to mastitis control. Safe for use in non-lactating dairy cows & requires no milk or pre-slaughter withdrawal. Each syringe contains 4 gm of a sterile, non-antibiotic, blue, smooth paste. After last milking at dry-off or prior to first lactation in replacement dairy heifers, clean & disinfect teat ends with alcohol swabs provided; air dry. If a dry cow antibiotic has been infused, teat should be reswabbed with alcohol swab prior to Lockout infusion. A clean, disinfected, dry teat is essential. To minimize Lockout entering the udder, squeeze top of teat canal at base of udder. Gently depress plunger until teat canal is full. To remove, thoroughly hand-strip every teat, 10-12 strips per teat before milking. Blue color aids in identifying Lockout at time of removal to reduce potential for accumulation in milking equipment. Zero-day milk and meat withdrawal when used alone. 17072-1 Pail/144 $369.12 Aids in prevention of new intramammary infections For use in dry dairy cows and replacement dairy heifers Provides a sterile, antibiotic-free barrier between the udder and the environment UDDER SEAL TEAT SEALANT Durvet Sterile, antibiotic-free, off-white smooth paste indicated as an aid in the prevention of new intramammary infections throughout the dry period by providing a malleable barrier in the teat canal.
